英国王立写真協会 日本支部

英国王立写真協会 日本支部(The Royal Photographic Society Japan Chapter: 略称RPSJ）は、150余年の歴史をもつ王立写真協会本部直轄の日本支部として平成8年9月に結成されました。写真展や講習会の開催のほか、日本支部の会報を年3回発行しております。

The Royal Photographic Society Japan Chapter (RPSJ) was founded in September 1996 as The Japan Chapter of“The Royal Photographic Society, Patron :Her Majesty The Queen. Incorporated by Royal Charter” which has a history of more than 150 years.　RPSJ holds the lectures and the photograph exhibitions and issues RPSJ journal three times a year.

第8回日本支部写真展 開催予定

テーマの総タイトルを「The New Horizon」（新たな展望）としました。
これは、第152回 英国王立写真協会 国際プリント写真展の「アレン＆オバリー賞」のテーマと同じです。日本支部の林喜一会員がこの賞を受賞しました。

The New Horizonとは、直訳すれば「新しい水平線」という意味ですが、Horizonには思考や知識の展望、視野、範囲といった意味があり、文明･文化の広がりをも意味します。 すなわち、The New Horizonとは水平線のかなたにある未来の新しい可能性を探ろうということです。日本支部会員ならびに外国人写真家のチャレンジをご期待ください。

Confer the following

The Invitation to the 8th Royal Photographic Society Japan Chapter Photo Exhibition.　Featuring the characteristics of RPS, the foreign photographers live in Japan are most welcome to the exhibition, and RPSJ members would like to enjoy together this opportunity.

The title of the exhibition is “The New Horizon”. The horizon has two meanings. One of them is the furthest that we can see, where the sky seems to meet the land or the sea. Another of them is the limit of our desires, knowledge or interests. We can take whichever we like.
